What is the ONE thing you like about having an eReader?

Valerie
Text to speech.

Kristine M.
I don't know! I don't have one yet but I think I will enjoy having a lot of favorite books in one place for traveling.

Julie T.
Having an eReader is FREEDOM. Freedom to have instant access to read any book you want.

Sonnia F.
I can "transport" many books in one volume --- especially important when traveling.

Joy M.
It holds more than one book when traveling.

Jamille K.
Not having to carry an extra bag with books on vacation.

Barbara
Portability and light weight.

Kim D.
Not having to carry numerous books in my back pack! I can have all of my books at my fingertips.

Fran
I love the whole experience of reading on an e-reader.

mpv
Vacation packing is so much easier!

Sue D.
Being able to read during a power outage, which are frequent in my area.

Jane H.
Ability to take tons of books with me when I travel! I really don't use it much at home, preferring to hold (and yes, even smell!) real books! But, it's a dream come true for a bookworm's travel plans.

Ellen
Getting new books instantly and being able to carry them with me wherever I go!

Joan
I don't have an eReader but I use KindlePC. I read books from my laptop and like that I don't have to hold a heavy hardback. I just put the PC on my lap and have my hands free.

Jackie R.
While traveling, the Kindle alllows me to bring several books with me in one small device.

Mary V.
The wait for bestsellers from the library seems to be shorter for the e-reader editions.

Eileen C.
Free preview chapters!

Kay
Reading in bed without having to have a lamp on.

Sheila M.
Having so many books on one little device.

Frankie
It is easier to handle an e-reader than a 600+ page book. I feel better about saving paper using the e-reader. There are times when I prefer a printed book; especially if it is a book that I need to refer to a section repeatedly.

Ann R.
I have arthritis in my hands and the kindle is light weight so it is much more comfortable for me to hold it while I read. I also find it so nice for travel --- I can carry it and have many choices of what to read while away.

Elaine R.
I seem to read faster....the lighting....the convenience.

Julie S.
I like it for traveling, very handy.

David A.
It helps reduce my huge "dead-tree book" library.

Jennifer
Ease of traveling and having books at my fingertips without packing them!

Tanya
Free library ebooks.

Kay
My library of books all together in one place, and the ease of buying them...right in my own living room.

Billie M.
Portability and can down load free books from library and Barnes and Noble.

Karen
Convenience! I have a Nook and can download library books without ever leaving the house. Don't have to worry about returning them either.

Barbara S-J
Convenience while traveling. Since airlines charge by weight for baggage, I can take my normal 3-4 books with me and not have to worry about extra charges.

Chris
An eReader is easier to carry around than a book because it is more compact.

Paula
When I want a new book I can get it instantaneously.

Sylvia H. S.
I get to keep all my books, orginized, and can go back to any one of them and read again. I also do not have to worry about making room in my home for all my books. I can carry it anwhere with me in my pocketbook or my special hand carrying case and bag. I have two kindles, the larger one-9 inch and the smaller one-the 6 inch. So convenient for doctor appoinments, riding in the car, on vacation. Love going on Amazon and getting the classic reads and free books. Have always loved to read and my kindle makes it so much easier, and I do not need my glasses --- I can change the print anytime. Plus if I am doing something else, I can turn on the audio when my hands are busy.

Kathy
They are very easy to hold, especially for a long book. I just love the dictionary feature to look up any word immediately!

Teresa
I love changing the size of the font. At night when my eyes are tired I can easily change the size for easier reading.

Elizabeth V.
I do not own an eReader and never will. I have a great big beautiful bookcase in my living room (my library), and hard cover books lovely there. Besides, eBooks are not the bargain we originally were given to believe they would be in spite of their low production cost. For most people, including me, eBooks are hard on the eyes. My eyes are strained when I read them, causing me, literally, to fall asleep. Granted paper books will do that to me if I read late into the night; eBooks do it any time of the day. The only thing good about an eReader is that it's small enough to hide when you read when you're not supposed to and don't want others to see.

Connie F.
Portability of books!

Cam G.
Since I have two young grandsons who live a distance away, I am traveling quite frequently to see them...with the Kindle I no longer have to load down my suitcase with books; instead I download my Kindle and I am good to go!

Mary L.
Ability to read anywhere and easy to carry.

Karen T.
With the Kindle you can just download books in about 30 seconds, with the free 3G version you can just do it anywhere and everywhere at any time. I love it.

Joyce F.
I like having the capability to increase the font size. It makes reading so much easier and helps me to stay focused.

Laurie W.
It travels very well. Light, small and lots of books at once.

Benita S.
I travel with just one small object but feel secure that I will not run out of reading material.

Robert M.
Not having to go to the library and if I start reading a book and don't like it I could return and get another one.

Karyn K-J
The size; it's small and easy to carry everywhere.

Jean K.
I like several things. One, you can adjust the size of print so when I'm on my treadmill I can make it larger and easier to read. I also like that, on my Kindle, there is a dictionary I can look at without having to go get mine on the bookshelf. Of course one of the big things: I can download as many books as I want when going on a trip. Last year, my daughter had the Kindle and I didn't. She had one small "book" to pack on our vacation, while I had four books.

Diane
I love to read, and this makes it nice that I can carry this with me and be able to read anywhere I am.

Phyllis
The convenience of taking it with me --- my Kindle is light and small and full of books to read.

Joyce A.
The portability of carrying it around with me and having several books to read.

Linda D.
Portability (having my entire library in one small device).

Lorraine S.
I don't have to wonder where to store physical books in my home.

Marianne
Many books in one place (gadget).

Sharin H.
Having it with me all the time.

Robert R.
As I get a little older I find it hard to read as much and for as long as I like. The ability to change type size when I want to allows me more time to read.

Sharon
I can get a book instantly and I don't have to leave the house to get it.

Jill S.
I can knit and read at the same time with my Nook!!

Vickie W.
I really like my Nook because of the convenience of putting it in my purse and always having something to read while I wait.

Heidi G.
My library goes with me anywhere!

Lisa
Portability.

Debbie
It makes traveling so much easier!

Elise
When I go on vacation I can bring as many books as I want now.

Elise
Being able to have room for more and more books.

Shannon
Being able to carry a library in my bag.

Janet M.
I have ICE syndrome and am nearsighted in one eye and far sighted in the other. My eyesight is cloudy at times and I almost stopped reading all together. Then I got my Nookcolor and since I can enlarge the print as much as necessary, I am enjoying reading again. And I love the color.

Judy
Easier to carry around rather than 4 or 5 books, especially on vacations!

M. Henry
Availability at any time --- still go tot the library but also order from the library and from B & N and Amazon.

Cheryl K.
I love the ability to travel with only one "book" to carry!

Janet S.
The storage capability.

Lita J.
I love having a selection of things to read in my purse. I have some for young readers if we are waiting for someone and I have some that are light reading if I am not able to concentrate at the time.

Andrea A.
Convenience would be the one thing, but it's so harrd to narrow it down to just one thing. I like that most, but not all books prove to be a real value. I like that you have the opportunity to read several books at once, like the apps. The Nook color is wonderful for kids, and read-to-me picture books are great. My favorite toy!

Natalie S.
I love having several books handy all in one location.

Kathy C.
REAT for vacation, only one thing to carry.

Debra
Being able to travel knowing I have enough reading material.

Cheryl
Always have several books ready to read.

Patricia R.
I can take over 100 books with me on trips with no increase in weight.

Sharon
The ease of obtaining new books. The only location in my town to purchase books is the local Walmart.

Ginger L.
I never have a book emergency. I used to hate it when I finished a book, and didn't have something else to read.

Julie T.
I love the freedom of being able to have any book or magazine I want to read available to me at any time.

Dawn T.
The vast number of books that I have easily and conveniently at my disposal at any time.

Lisa
Easy, that I can "carry" all my books.

Sharon W.
Never having to worry about not having my choice of reading material!

dbentman
Since Borders is now closing, I do not have to travel 20 miles to the nearest Barnes and Noble. I can now just downloaded onto my nook. However, I still miss the feel of a book.

Debi
I like its portability. When my father was in the hospital, and I had to sit with him, I could browse for books, download them, and read them without leaving the room or carrying a big bag of books. I still like my real books, though!

Chiara
I love, love, love to be able to carry around a whole library in my handbag: reference titles, work-related tomes, favorite novels, lots of history, and the occasional guilty pleasure --- all neatly packed within my tiny Kindle.

Debbie H.
If it's late, or the stores are closed, and I run out of something to read, salvation is just a click away!

Noel T.
On the kindle I can highlight a word and go to the definition.

Darlene
Portability and large type.

Karen
To be able to buy a book immediately and it's easy to take with you. I have the Nook Color and I love it.

Nancy V-d-M.
Downloading many books in such a small space. Can take a whole library of books with me any time I leave the house!!

Marge H.
Less clutter.

Susan
Instant gratification! If I decide I want to read a particular book, I can have it within seconds. Very convenient!

Kay P.
Easier to travel with, rather than taking 5 or more books with me on vacation!

Kathy C.
Being able to read a big, fat novel without having to carry the weight of the book.

Sandra G.
The convenience of having so many books right in the palm of your hand, especially when traveling or just waiting in line somewhere. I still love regular hardcopy books, but my Kindle is my best friend when I am on the go, and at home!

Janice M.
Great for traveling. You always have a book to read!

Sharon
It enables me to read faster and can read it whenever and wherever I am.

Mark W.
Being able to read while I walk along. I haven't bumped into anything yet!

Lynn H.
I like that it is easy to take with me anywhere I go and that when I finish one book I have another to start on hand. If I had to pick just one favorite feature, it would be how easy it is to take anywhere. Not a big deal when reading a small book but makes a big difference when reading a bulky book.

Jane K.
I'm able to enlarge the font so that I can read longer and in dim places. I'm 82 and the publishers appear to be saving money by printing their books lighter and lighter. I have the larger Kindle and read every day everywhere. I depend on Bookreporter for suggestions and reviews. I spend far too much money on e-Books but enjoy every moment.

Sally B.
The dictionary function.

Beverly R.
I love the fact that you can get the book you want, at less cost than a hardcopy, in about 60 seconds....instant gratification!

J.R. Monahan
Being able to take multiple books on vacation without all the weight of paper books!

Donna Jo
I have more books to choose from when I take it with me someplace. Also have been getting a lot of free books and sharing books with friends. It's the best thing I ever bought. I was trying out the option of using an app on a ipod touch, which worked in the beginning but, after buying the Nook, I haven't done that in a while. It's still a good thing to keep in your pocket book so you have some you can read if needed.

Katherine S.
I like to carry it when traveling

Lita J.
This is an addendum to a previous entry. It is still the same reason. I love having 40 or 50 books to choose from. I had to make 2 trips to the emergency room last month and they kept me the second time. I only had what was in my purse. My nook cover also has most of the phone numbers I needed too.

Jean
I would love the portability. I'm always hauling around a book and maybe a magazine too. And when I travel, I pack multiple books of course. I never want to be left without a book to read!!!

Ronie
I have an iPad2 and I just love it for movies. I have not read a book on it yet, but am getting there.

Gwen
I like downloading my books instantly by wifi. I like having lots of books in one place.

Diane
Convenience and they are easy to use.

Dianne D.
Easy to transport if traveling and not having to carry books.

Patty
I love having my library with me at all times...lol!!!

Jessica S.
Being able to read books not available in print. Many of my friends are e-published and I would not be able to read their books otherwise. Reading these books on the computer is impossible since my kids often sit on my lap while I'm reading.

Beverly H.
Portability....I have a long commute and read while riding the train to and from work. My Nook holds many, many books and I don't have to carry two books when I'm close to finishing the first. The Nook takes up very little space, weighs next to nothing and is easily accessible!

Rosalie M.
That I can have so many books to choose from without worrying about time of day or night to purchase one. It is also nice to be able to access library books. I was reallly opposed to owning an e-reader b/c I loved books (the feel and smell) but was amazed how quickly I adapted to my Color Nook.

Estelle B.
Being able to get a book "right away." Having to watch our money makes choosing one more difficult.

Phyllis F.
It's great for traveling because it's small and can hold many books.

Margaret F.
I love the access it has given me to books that I would not have had a chance to read otherwise.

Harriet I.
I can make the font bigger and the words darker, excellent for a senior citizen.

Carol B.
I love being able to get a book "instantly" by ordering it online...instant gratification!!!

Ruth S.
It is a great space saver as my house is overflowing with books.

Jana
My e-reader (Nookcolor) is backlit. I love being able to read in the dark or low lit areas without having to have a separate light!

Yvonne J.
With the NookColor I can read in bed at night without a light. I've gotten so used to the white lettering on the black screen that I usually don't even bother to switch it back in the day time.

Dorothy
The only thing I love about my Kindle is the fact that I don't have to travel with a suitcase full of books! And my husband is very pleased about this also!

Gail M.
Portability; can be taken anywhere with multiple choices of reading material.

Donna K.
I can carry my library with me and read at night without turning on a light.

Carmen G.
Enlarged font!

Noreen D.
I like being able to borrow from my granddaughter. She likes the same type of books that I do and I love finding an email from her that a book is on the way.

Jack S.
Shelf Space! I have at least 4000 hard back books and to be honest my wife was threatening divorce if I bought any more. My iPad solves the problem of shelve space. I also like the fact that I can get books that are out of print or hard to find in hard back. For example, this summer I have been rereading all the old Rex Stout, "Nero Wolfe" Mysteries and Robert B. Parker "Spenser" Mysteries that I don't have in my Library. Its great to be able to find books I haven't been able to read or haven't read in many years.

Joy
I can take 50 books with me wherever I go.

Kathy
When I complete one book, there is another book ready to start. I don't have to carry extra weight of books around or worse, not have another book with me to start reading. All my "to be read" books are in one spot just waiting to lead me into worlds of romance or mystery or fantasy...

Carol F.
The ability to hold it without pain in my arthritic hands.

Gail C.
I like having immediate access to books without leaving the house or waiting a week for books to arrive in the mail.

W. Weatherwax
Although I have a Sony e-reader (no longer used) and ipod, and ipad, I find I return to my Kindle most often for a new book to read. The instantaneous download almost makes it too easy to buy the latest offering from many authors I read. The only addition I would make is a built in light for reading at night. Daytime in the sun it is much better than my ipod, ipad etc.

Paisley
The light on my cover allows me to read at night without turning on an additional light.

Beverly M.
Difficult to narrow it down to one thing, but I love having the ability to buy a book instantly, at a lower price, and carry it in my library of hundreds whoever I go.

Peggy
It's always with me. Goes into the handbag along with the keys each day and onto the coffee table at night. When I get a few minutes of down time, no matter where I am, it can be pulled out and my escape is complete, if only for a few minutes!

Pat
The convenience of books for traveling and borrowing from a library. Adjusting the size of script and brightness of screen. I use an iPad.

Rena
Reading without the room/overhead light.

Nanci G.
I returned the one I was gifted (a Kindle) and bought books with the credit. My husband was gifted one which he likes for travel.

Carol
I can download books from my library.

Judy R.
I can take hundreds of books on vacations. I love the archive where I can find my books on line to reread any time I want. I like the fact that I am told I have already purchased a book so I don't double dip. I save lots of space storing books. I thought I would miss turning pages, etc, but I don't.

Lorraine S.
Don't have to find a place to store books.

Judith M.
Not having to tote around all of that "book weight" when I travel to the Orient or to the dentist.

Deb S.
Carrying more than a suitcase full of books with me wherever I go.

Kathy
For traveling.

Merrilee P.
It's great for travel.

Anne H.
I can go from reading emails to downloading books and reading them all on my laptop.

Gina A.
Having many books at one time available.

Long
Having a book available to read wherever I am. Small enough to pop in your purse and now there is an iphone app. No need to waste a minute anywhere.

Susan
When you go on vacation or a business trip and you finish a book, you just download another or preload your eReader ahead of time. No carrying multiple books in your suitcase.

Tricia D.
I can carry around hundreds of books without my arthritis flaring up. And the choices. . . . oh, the choices. Too many. Too little time!

Cherry
I haven't purchased one yet, but since in the past I've taken many books in luggage when traveling and always running out of reading material, it will most likely happen in the future. These days, I am enjoying listening to books either by CD in the car or on my phone...at least the books I probably won't get around to reading. Giving up a 'real' book with pages to turn will be very hard to do. Plus, this way I keep my local library in business.

Elizabeth M.
Ability to have so many books in so little space.

Terri N.
The ability to make the print larger.

Cheryl B.
I can dowload the book in less than a minute.

Kim
So many books in one same container!

Karen T.
The technology is very cool. I got a chance to really look at one closely. I still get my books from the library. Maybe one day I will get one.

Pamela D.
Love love love the variety of reading material available in an easy to tote format!

Geneva S.
I don't have one and don't plan to. I like real life books with pages to turn...and paper to smell....I don't want to depend on batteries.

Christine H.
I love NEVER running out of books to read no matter where I am!

Cathy
You can read while having your nails done! You have a page turning button on each side of the Kindle. So, while one hand is being worked on, you click with one finger of the other hand ... then vise versa. It makes the tedious job of getting a routine fill done enjoyable.

Cecile
Portability --- easy to carry in my purse so that I always have a book with me. I also like the fact it holds more than one book so that I can choose a book to suit my mood.

Martha S.
Portablility of multiple books and compact size especially when traveling.

Barbara W.
Before I got my Nook, I like reading Hardcovers. With my Nook it's easy and lighter in my hand bag.

Karen S.
When I'm traveling, it's easier to carry an eReader than several books, especially with airline weight restrictions.

Connie B.
Portability when traveling.

Elaine W.
Lighter tote bag when traveling.

Janea L.
I like the instant access to books as I live in a small town that has not bookstore.

Lynn R.
The power of always being able to get a book.

Shelley Q.
I like being able to have a book on reserve to read, especially when I am traveling.

Nicolette B.
I love the magazine and newspaper abilities without the paper wasting.

Diane R.
Using it while traveling and having it cut down on the number of books taken along!
