If you already have an eReader, what prompted you to purchase it? If not, what is holding you back?

Terri Bray
Vacation. I didn't have to pack several books to take with me in my suitcase. It is about the size of a paperback book and fits easily in my purse. New releases are less expensive and not huge hard bound size. I love my Kindle. I still buy books though, because I collect works by some authors.

Cat
I considered and looked at e-readers but to a true reader it would just be another electronic accessory that replaces the true enjoyment of browsing the bookstore, talking to other readers and the sheer pleasure of sitting in your favorite chair holding the actual book and appreciating this experience. There is nothing like the feel and smell of the book itself.

sagil
I am waiting for all the bugs to get out of them and the price to come down.

Victoria Shrader
I usually get books and books on tape at the library.

Karen Terry
I check my books out at the library. I couldn't afford an e-reader.

Barbara Short
I'm technically challenged. I wondered how it would act during daylight hours. My cell phone is horrible in the daylight.

Vickie
I got my Nook after I had completed an extra job at work that gave me the extra money to buy it. I wanted to be able to carry a lot of books with me when I go to different places, like the doctor's office or to work, and to not have to carry a big book bag with me. After having it for almost two months, I don't know what I would do without it. I love the convenience, especially being able to download books from the public library onto my Nook, reading them without cost to me at all. Of course, as a book fanatic, I can't help but buy some books once in a while. I am eagerly awaiting Robin Cook's new book that I pre-ordered on my Nook. I love mine so much that I bought one for my sister for her birthday...now we can lend each other books! I didn't know if I would like the feel of an e-reader instead of a real book, but I got a leather cover for my Nook and that makes it easy to hold as well as protecting the Nook. Love it, love it, love it! When a book is "one to watch" on bookreporter.com, I just look it up on my Nook and download the free sample to see if I would like to buy it.

Jen
I bought the eReader because of the space it takes to store books.

Gabriella L
I have no desire to buy an eReader because I'd rather hold the actual book, pages and all, in my hand. I love the smell of books, and I love the feel of the pages on my fingers, and you can't get that with an eReader.

Steven Schwindt
I bought a Kindle 1 and had it delivered to me in China.

I found I paid the price of the Kindle after buying 23 books from Amazon. The savings came both from the cheaper ebooks and no delivery charge. In China, Amazon put a big delivery charge for each batch of books I ordered from them. I paid $400 for that Kindle 1.

Now I ordered a Kindle 3. I am back in Oregon now.

Vicki Toner
I don't have an e-reader. I'm pretty much old school when it comes to this topic and like to actually have the low tech paper version in my hands.

enyl
Price and questions about compatibility. If I purchase a Kindle am I limited to purchasing e-books from Amazon or will I be able to access an e-book purchased at Borders or Barnes & Noble on it?

Gladys Paradowski
I like holding a book in my hand and turning the pages as I read. I also love visiting bookstores and browsing the whole place.

Donnell
I sincerely hope this is one technology tool that I NEVER own. I like to hold a real book, with real pages, in my hand. I often print an article from the computer I want to read. Reading is better, easier and more pleasurable on real paper.

Padraicin
I wanted one to carry in my purse so that I could always have something to read with me (waiting in line, at lunch, etc.).

S.D.
To clear my bookshelf --- as a promise to my husband not to have more books stacked around the house. Also to lighten my load when I travel and have a variety of books available to read since I read more than one book and genre at a time.

Sally Gaca
Don't have one. Not sure I want one. There's just something about physically turning the pages that's addictive, for lack of a better word. Also, you can't loan the book to a friend with an e-reader from what I understand.

Janet Thomas
I guess I am old fashioned and love the smell of books and I love to read in bed and turn the pages. I used to be married to someone in the Navy and one time and traveled a lot. I always felt like I was home when I found the library and smelled that smell. Crazy huh?

Rebecca
It was given to me as a gift. I was not interested in it initially, but then after looking at one and reading a bit on it, I decided I would like it so it was purchased for me.

Linda Bentzen
I love the feeling of holding and looking at books. Some of the drawbacks I've read about have made me at least wait. I like being able to go back and forth to check out something I've read earlier in the book.

Lita Jones
I do not have a stand alone e-reader. I do read books from the library on my PC. The price is the biggest problem. I am on a fixed income and I think of all the books I could get for the just the price of the reader. Since I have retired, most of my books are used or purchased used from Amazon and mission stores. As a money maker, the local museum has a bi-annual book sale. In June I found four hard cover craft and recipe books plus 33 soft covers for $12.25. I love your reviews and do read from the library as well. I think you have an amazing staff and I wish to thank you for the quote of the day, especially the month of poetry.

Benita Sirkin
We purchased it for travel when carrying books became too cumbersome.

Kay Tibbles
I borrow many books from three different libraries. Many of the books I want to read are not available in ebook form. I MUCH prefer curling up with a nice cup of tea and holding a real book in my hands.

Gail
I no longer purchase books due to the expense and lack of storage. I get all my reading material from the local library. If I was able to borrow Ebooks from the library, I would very likely purchase an eReader.

Trez
I will not purchase an eReader. A book must have pages to turn and have heft to it when you lift it. An electronic device is not a book.

Jamille
It was a Christmas gift. At first I thought "Why do I need this?", but taking it on vacation eliminated the need to squeeze books into my bags and it was usable on the beach. For travel it is great!

GMR
I received it as a gift, HOWEVER the reason I even contemplated one was to use as a back up for my hardcover books, and for classics that I may not have the actual copy of.

Kelly Looney
I like being able to travel with several books and even with paperbacks, they are too heavy to carry if you have more than a couple. Also, it reduces clutter around the house (fewer books in my 'to read' pile).

Pat Nenninger
Convenience and immediate availability of book. It's also easy to travel with.

Debbie
I love the feel, smell and look of a "real" book. I love to sit down and look at the jacket, open it, read it, turn the pages, etc. An e-reader seems very impersonal and cold to me, as opposed to a physical book. I like to see what other people are reading (whenever possible). My daughter has a Nook, which she loves, and is trying to convert me. If she does, it will be on a very limited basis. I could go on about this for hours.

Lyn B.
I bought mine to take on our motorcycle trips so that I wouldn't have to pack individual books. Love it!!

Marjorie
I do not have an eReader because I like the feel and smell of books in general.

Kay Myers
I prefer to hold a book and smell a new book. It is the only way it was meant to read --- straight from the author's own book!

Lynn Ketelsen
I love books --- paperback, hardcover, ink, paper, graphics, the smell --- ALL of it! Not interested in e-books in the slightest!

Sharon W.
I bought mine just last week after researching and discussing it with family who have had them for some time. They are at better price, more generations and user friendly changes in format. I very much like the idea of portability. I like to read in the car, airport, bed, anywhere I have a few minutes to myself and now I have a large selection of material as well as a book in progress. I bought a larger size and am very impressed with the quality of print etc. There are also many "free" books available, mainly classics which I love, in the public domain so one does not have to spend vast amounts of money to build a library. The cost of "ebooks" is less than published books too. I will never give up my paper books, I love the smell and feel of them, but this is a good addition to my reading library.

Kathleen Davis
"Buying" an e-book for an e-reader is essentially renting the e-book.
A hard-copy book is the best --- and always will be.

rita powell
It costs way too much. While it would be nice to have once, I can always go the library if I cannot afford to buy at the bookstore.

Kearstie Grenier
I got my eReader when I was bedridden after a major operation. It was easier to read in bed --- lightweight, easy to turn pages and I had a whole library at my fingertips; I could purchase books without leaving my bed. I found I could read longer without eyestrain (no glare), and the books were cheaper than hardcover books. I love my eReader, but I just wish I could share books with others or get compatible books from my library.

Richard N Bartels
I mostly get my books from library. If I'm going on a trip, I shop at GoodWill or similar thrift stores for cheap (<$1) books. I read and leave them behind for someone else to enjoy as I travel.

Beckie Burnham
I was given the eReader as a gift. But I would have bought it anyway. I love books, but have too little space and too little funds to spend on physical books sometimes.

Janet Hoyt
I was doing a bit of traveling and it just seemed like a good idea --- instead of carrying along a number of books...

Booklover2
I like the convenience of having thousands of books on the e-reader and not cluttering up my house. When I travel, I have my whole library of books and the opportunity to buy one in less than 60 seconds. My Kindle is very easy on my eyes and allows me to read for hours. It is also easy to hold as opposed to some hefty hardbacks.

Joy Martineau
The book and e-book price were very close together. I don't have any more room to store books. It saves on space.

F Tessa Bartels
I collect SFE (signed first editions). You can't get an author's signature on an e-book.

On the other hand, I just came back from a trip, and it would be nice to have a "lighter" suitcase. I justify my current practice by the fact that as I read books when on vacation, I leave them behind for someone else to enjoy, thus making room on the return trip for my purchases!

Tom Carrico
My eReader (Nook) doesn't leave stacks of books on the floor which gets my wife upset.

Connie Robinson
One of my best friends gifted me with a NOOK on Christmas Eve 2010 and I have used it practically everyday! I love how light it is to hold and I LOVE being able to get the book I want in just a few minutes! I knew I wanted one but ownership really went beyond my expectations!
I also love not having stacks and stacks of books to deal with.

J Mitchell
The drop in price that brought Kindle 2 below $200 prompted my husband to purchase the eReader for me.

Jessica Subject
I met other authors on twitter and wanted to read their books, which were only available as e-book (or trade book, which were very expensive). Reading them on my laptop was difficult because my son would try to rip keys off my keyboard, and the laptop does not do very well in the bathroom. :) So, I asked for an e-reader (Kobo) as a gift and received one. (I would have bought one anyways. I was ready to)

Kari W.
The reason I purchased an eReader was vacation. I didn't want the bulk of carrying a book in my bag. I did my research and decided to splurge.

Loretta Sanford
Money is a problem right now so I can only borrow books from the library. And I really enjoy going to the library. Maybe I am weird but I do not like having a lot of books around. I like the freedom to return the books when I am finished. I also like the feel of a real book in my hands.

Judy Williams
It was a gift but I was asked if I wanted it and I said, "Yes."

Phyllis Gronewold
What's holding me back are the current prices and the fact that I have a large stack of books waiting to be read.

Jace
I just ordered the Kindle 3 after much debate. I think it will be very convenient to travel and my wrists bother me when I hold heavy books so this will be easier.

Mary-Lynne Bernald
I prefer having a "real" book in hand. I like being able to bookmark meaningful passages and making comments in the margins.

Annie
I love the touch and feel of an actual book. It's part of the reading experience for me!

J.R. Monahan
I love the ability to take multiple books on vacation without all the extra weight and bulk of taking print books! And this way, I'll never run out of books again!!

Robert E Brown Sr
I do not have an eReader because I am the sort of person where I need to read a book with paper pages. I have enough electronic gadgets now as it is.

Chris Bush
I had been salivating over the e-readers for a couple of years, and my husband surprised me with one for my birthday this year. I really like the convenience, but I still enjoy holding onto a print-and-pages book, too. Just call my ereader another tool in my arsenal to read, read, read!

Jeanne Knight
I ran out of room for more books. The e-reader gives me lots of books but takes up only a small space.

Sabrina Honda
I love the size. Three hundred books and counting in one paperback size, 10 oz e-reader. If I finish a book while standing in line, I can download another before I get to the checkout. I still collect books, but to me, it's the story that is important. E-readers are more convenient. Plus I'm running out of shelf space.

Kay
My bookshelf would not look the same. I am also afraid I would have way more books on it than I could ever read. I am always in pursuit of a new book as it is.

Linda M. Johnson
I love the physicality of a book --- reading every word on the dust jacket, being able to flip through to see how many pages are in the entire book, or how many to the end of the chapter, the sense of progress as I watch my bookmark dig deeper into the depths of the pages, and being able to mark (with post-it notes) words I want to look up or ideas I want to discuss. Post-it notes would be difficult on an e-reader.

I do think an e-reader would be easier on my hands and aging eyes, though.

Phyllis Pearson
I was given my eReader as a gift because I was reluctant to buy. it. Now that I have it I find it very convenient for travel since I don't have to carry at least three books with me.

diane r
I like the fact that Barnes and Noble has such good support for the Nook and that it can utilize libraries with the data base.

Megan
I use it primarily for vacation even though I have nothing planned at this time. Once I figured out which one I wanted, I wanted it!

SantafeCowgirl
It was a gift! I love it!

Tamara Randi
I have been waiting for the price to come down but I did download Kindle on my PC. I like the look and idea of the IPad but it is really expensive.

Linda Simpkins
I am not interested . I would miss the touch of a book and the words on the pages.

Kathleen LaJaune
I love that I can take a library full of books with me anywhere I go and my shoulder doesn't even need to hurt. I love, love my Kindle.

Rosalie Sambuco
My friend bought an Ipad and no longer needed her NOOK. She sold it to me for half price.

Annette Savio
I have not yet purchased an e-reader because I am waiting for the price to come down on the e-reader and the ebooks.

E.rey
It's easier to travel --- which I do often --- with an e-reader because it can hold several books.

Janey Nichols
I found that ebooks cost less the hardbounds and even paperbacks, and there are lots of free ebooks available. And I found myself without a book at an airport and was annoyed how much it cost me to buy a paperback. Now as long as I remember to bring the ereader....also, I have so many books on shelves and one day may be down sizing our home, so I thought owning an ereader would help with possible lack of space :)

Jennie Wright
I can carry many (up to 1,500) books with me wherever I go in one convenient, smallish package. The recent price slashing made it too tempting!

Celeste
I like the look, feel and smell of a real book. I like to see my bookmark move through the book. I love looking at the cover of the book. You can curl up with a warm, soft book, but you can't curl up with a hard appliance. Nobody takes their computer to bed!

catherine a lee
I found a Kindle for less than $200 with very cool features.

Julie Carter
I purchased a Kindle last year because the number of books I have in my little one bedroom apartment has gotten ridiculous. I love physical books, but for books I know I will only want to read once and then get rid of, I prefer to buy ebooks, just to save on space. Plus, they are usually cheaper to buy (for brand new books in hardcover) and so simple to get immediately! Great for instant gratification (plus, there's always samples you can read too). But I will NOT pay more than $9.99 for an ebook. Will not do it! (And unfortunately, I paid a lot more for my Kindle than the $189 they're charging now!)

Kim Diller
I bought my Kindle because it makes it more convenient when I travel. I could never decide which books to pack. The time my luggage was overweight and three very large novels had to be moved to my carry-on bag was the turning point for me! I still buy books in hardcover and paperback, but I like the Kindle. I've had it for several years and am considering upgrading to a newer version.

M ROSEN
I enjoy holding and reading a book

Cynthia Van Dusen
I purchased the Nook because of it's ability to use digital library books. It's great not having to leave home.

Jill Stoneberg
Initially lower prices, now that Apple has ruined the $9.99 price point, I'm still paying less for instant access. I also love the samples which allow me to be sure that I'll like the book prior to paying for it. Kindles ROCK!

Rob Williams
I bought one because I like the feeling of always having over 300 books on me at all times. There is nothing worse than finishing a book half way through lunch hour and not having anything else to read!

Amy Neral
I finally found an ereader worthy of purchase last February after extensive research. The Barnes & Noble NOOK is by far the best on the market. I still love DTBs, but my NOOK is with me at all times! If you are thinking of any other kind, you are not informed enough. NOOK is the only way to go.

Renee Lepley
My doctor encouraged me to buy one, knowing that I am an avid reader. He and his wife both love their ereaders, even though they love the feel of the book in their hands. I, too, love holding a book and turning the pages, but I do like my ereader, too.

Amy Gross
Several things, I buy a lot of books and the cost of most eBooks is less than I was spending. I like having the options of text or speech as I spend a lot of time in the car. eBooks are more green friendly. I have floaters in my eyes and have the ability to increase the font size which makes the book easier to read for me. I can adjust it depending on how bad the floaters are that day.

Laurie W
I purchased a Barnes and Noble Nook in December 2009. I received it when they first released them. I basically bought one for traveling. I can easily take ten books with me without any extra weight in my suitcase. I also like to read my Nook at the pool. I can make the text large enough that I don't need reading glasses so I can wear my sunglasses. It is also great for reading in bed at night, especially large books! Another great feature is the web connection. I can now check email and surf the web on one small handheld device while I travel.

Joyce A. Urba Ph.D.
Part of the reading experience for me is holding the book and feeling the pages. These are missing when using an eReader and so I have no interest whatsoever in purchasing one.

Mary Fearnley
I have an eReader. The convenience of having multiple books in the size of a paperback is my main reason for buying it. Downloading from the website is an added convenience.

Sallie
It is not a 'book'. The weight, the feel, the texture of the page and especially the smell of a real book is absent. Plus, the screen size, regardless of font, is limiting and I cannot hold the page, ready to flip it when I want. Scrolling to read has no appeal.

Linda
I love "real" books --- the feel, the smell, the weight!

Lynne W.
I purchased my eReader a few years ago because it seemed exciting to be able to immediately receive books that I wanted to read. I can honestly say that I don't use it very much. I love the feel of a book in my hand and love going to the library!

Andrea
I was given mine as a Christmas gift two years ago.

Gretchen Paul
I like holding a book. I'm not sure that I would enjoy reading from an eReader and would like the opportunity to try one before making the decision to buy.

Jean Kruse
When I read a good book I like to be able to pass it along to my friends. This isn't possible with a e-reader.

Linda Meyers
I accumulate too many books and never know what to do with them all. An eReader solves this problem, plus it stores all my books in my account if I ever want to read them again. I also save a little money on each book purchased.

Karen Bader
The main reason I got a Nook was to save space.

I moved to CA seven years ago. Where I lived before in IN, we had a wonderful library system. I used it regularly. The library here is terrible. I read a lot and I am totally out of room for books in my home. Also, the expense of changing from library reading to book purchasing isn't small either. There are always some authors and books that I will want to keep on my shelves, no question. However, since I got my Nook in early April I love it. I can buy lots of books, and not have to weed out my shelves as much. If I finish a book, I can download a new one right away. The cost per book is also less.

Another advantage is that my DD is away at medical school back in IN (with the wonderful library system). We like many of the same authors and we share books. With the distance and the expense of school, we hadn't been able to share books and she had been unable to purchase them (OK the time in school and studying does have an effect too.) We got her a Nook, registered it to her account along with mine, and now we share content. She loves it because whenever she has time to read, many of her favorite authors are right there ready to read. We also like to be able to talk about books again, which we both enjoy.

Joyce M. Armour
I bought a Sony Pocket Edition in May. Sony was having a special price promotion and I like the features it has. I enjoy it very much.

Carole Gilliland
I would love to have one but since I get all my books at the library (does anything beat free?), I won't purchase one until you can get books for it through the library.

Sharon
Easy to read format --- I like the streamline design compared to a bulky book. It's great for storing books --- no longer have to have stacks of physical books at my home. Love the built-in dictionary feature --- just highlight a word and the definition pops-up. Instant access to a book is amazing --- don't have to wait for the mail or to go to a bookstore.

Debi
What holds me back is the fact that I like the feel of books in my hands. I like to smell a new book, turn the pages, read the front flaps and admire the beautiful covers. A book is a book...is a book!

Ann Graham
I'm on the computer all day long for my job and I don't want to read on one in my off hours. To me an e-reader is like a computer monitor even though the lighting is different.

Jill Stoneberg
I have a Kindle 1 that I've owned for two years. I bought it for two reasons: 1) I have a library filled to the brim; and my home office has two walls of shelves also filled to the brim. Not to mention the books in boxes! I also wanted to be able to get books instantly. I wasn't sure I could live without the "feel" of an actual book. I still check out 5+ books a week from the library so that's not a problem. I adore my Kindle!

Lynne Brosch
I can immediately download books that I want and at a cheaper purchase price. I also have the ability to enlarge print and ease of having a book to travel with.

Jean Basinger
I have not purchased an eReader because of my love of BOOKS.
I find it relaxing and very enjoyable to hold a book while reading!

Sandra Stiles
Two things prompted me to buy my Nook. I teach middle school and purchase 200+ books each year for my shelves. I buy adult books for my e-reader. The second thing was that I usually take a suitcase of books on vacation with me (20+ books). The e-reader allows me to take hundreds in something that fits in my purse.

Ellen
I love books --- the dust covers, the physical act of holding a book and turning the pages, using bookmarks to mark my place. I love shopping for books in a bookstore, browsing through books before choosing and then reading the leads. I like filling a bookshelf.

R. Knapp
I know I will get one eventually. Right now I am very behind with reading the books I already own.
The features offered keep changing, so we can wait and see how it all sorts out. Besides, I live right across the street from the town library. ;-)

Jennifer Morrell
Hi,
I want one that can download from anywhere, including Amazon, Borders and Barnes and Noble and also all the independent websites. Yes, the iPad can do that, but the smallest is still $500, so I have to wait a bit longer for it to be affordable for me. I also do not like the privacy invasion of the Kindle, which can see, access and remove something anytime.
I guess I am asking a lot, downloads unrestricted by place, privacy and at a good price.
Jenn

Kathryn McNamara
I'm not sure I'd enjoy reading from a piece of electronic equipment. I am thinking of getting one for non-fiction and more informative types of books, but I will always buy books to read and enjoy. Part of the experience for me is holding and savoring the book.

Betty Ralph
I don't have one. I love the convenience of reading and then rereading, jotting down favorite passages with ease, and referring to them in my book group. I love to hold the magic of a book!

Kathleen Smith
It was a gift.

Jacki Robertson
I purchase mostly used paperbacks because that is what I can afford. They are still more portable than an eReader because they will fit in my purse. Also, books can be shared with my husband. I would have to loan him my eReader if he wanted to read the same book which would not be convenient. When we retire in a few years we will probably rely on our library which is less expensive than buying.

Mitzi Comeaux
It allows easy access anywhere to purchase and I can have my personal library of books and also the ability to download books from the public library.

MJB
I do not have an e-reader and I have no interest in getting one. I love books. I want to hold a book in my hands, read every single page in it, including the forward, all the info about the publisher, ISBN #, publishing date etc. I want to smell the book. I know that sounds weird but I love the smell of print and all the promises it holds. It is like walking into a library and smelling all those books waiting to be picked up and devoured. Call me a dinosaur but I hope we never lose our choice to hold a book rather than a technical gadget.

Pam
I do not want an e-reader because I can picture in my mind all these pieces of plastic in landfills around the country that cannot biodegrade and will persist for thousands of years. The world already has too much plastic that we cannot seem to get rid of; dumping it in the oceans is not a solution. I love the physical book and I see no reason to change.

Beth Cummings
I have no interest in owning an e-reader. I like the feel of a book in my hand and love the sight of books on my shelves.
I'm also afraid that if I didn't have the physical book sitting on the shelf waiting for me, I might never get around to reading everything I'm inclined to buy.

Judith Mroz
My house was overflowing with books and my husband got me a Kindle for my birthday. He was hoping that I would cut down on my purchases of the "real thing." I love my Kindle and his dreams have been answered.

Estelle Belkin
I prefer reading "real" paper books.

michael
I wanted a library where I could carry all my hundreds of books with me wherever I go. I was tired of owning a book but unable to find it because it was lost in boxes of neglected but still loved books.

pamela gordon
The price and having to buy books; currently I use my fantastic local library.

Judith Davenport
I am able to read your reviews on bookreporter.com and order a sample to read in the comfort of my home. I can use my iphone to read when I get in a situation where I have to wait without using my Kindle. Love it!

Jim Gysin
I used to travel quite a bit and the ability to bring along a sufficient reading list that didn't weight 100 pounds was a big deal. I was using ereader.com and fictionwise long before B&N took them over, and long before anyone had heard of something called a Kindle.

Renee
I just love that new book/old book/used book smell too too much!

Elizabeth V
I don't have one because books make up part of decor in my home. I love books.

Patty Magyar
I have a ton of books with me when I travel. I love my Kindle --- I have Kindle 1 and I just pre-ordered Kindle 3 and I am giving my old one to my sister.

Pat Cook
Going Green. Our home is FULL of books so we like both the convenience of the Kindle and not having actual books to dispose of. My husband and I both have Kindles that we LOVE and Amazon service is awesome!

Bernice Spier
I have no interest in an eReader. I want to hold a BOOK in my hands.

Rtia
I don't have an e-reader. I like the feel of a book in my hands and also being able to share it with friends or to donate it to the local library.

Judy Brooks
I wanted an eReader mainly for travel purposes and also to purchase back list books of my favorite authors. It still doesn't beat a real book though!

Pat Raines
I'm afraid I would actually miss having a book in my hands. Books pile up, so having an eReader would alleviate that. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas and she would never go back to books.

Vicki Cochran
I have been wanting an eReader for the last six months, but I have been out of work for thirteen months. I have all the time in the world to read but do not have the money to buy one.

Linda
Want the iPad --- but they need to lower the price.

Harriet Insler
I purchased it before I left for a vacation at the beach in N.C. because I did not want to carry heavy books with me. I still love to hold a book in my hands, but the eReader offers convenience when traveling.

Mary Schreiner
I do not like the idea of reading from a screen. I prefer reading books.

Lin Livingston
I haven't bought one because there is nothing like being able to flip the pages of a book and seeing how close you are to the end, in inches of paper.

Nancy Wales
I received it as a gift and I love it! It is easier to read than text in a book, sharper with better contrast. I like being able to have several books at a time. No worries about storage or to whom to donate books. I miss being able to share books with family and friends, but now that my spouse has a Kindle , we can exchange when we both want to read a title.

Dave Rudy
I like paper. I can underline or mark sections I want to refer to later, I like being able to read in the sun, or by lamplight. I also like paper newspapers.

Dianne
It's easier to take books with me when I travel.

Judy
I love the feel of a book in my hands and looking at my favorites in my shelves --- all friends. I can't imagine giving that up to buy an eReader!

Esther Whatley
I have no interest in e-reader.

No, eReaders seem to lack the clarity and sharp definition of the printed page.

I'm still not sure I want to read that way. I love the paper and feel of books. It's like they are an old friend. My husband said he is going to buy me one for Christmas this year, just because it will save money. I'll probably try it then because the Nook looks like the best, based on my comparisons.

What's holding me back is cost and I have difficulty reading and concentrating on material of any length from the screens of any electronic device, including computers.

Not enough space for all the books I read. The last time I moved I had to get rid of too many books that I loved because I had no room for them. I can take my e-reader anywhere and even though I've only had it a few months, I have over 200 books on it and am reading more than ever!
