The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

The 9/11 Report by the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks

I think the most remembered book of this summer will be The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Whether one has read it or not, whether he likes it or dislikes it, this book will probably be the one we have talked about the most.

I think Skinny Dip by Carl Hiaasen will be the book of the summer.

I felt like an athlete getting ready for the Olympics when I read Oprah's selection, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, and I think it deserves a gold medal. It was worth every page!!!!!

The 9/11 Report or Bill Clinton's autobiography.

I found the plethora of political books amazing. Regardless of your political persuasion, there was a book to match it.

[email protected]
For me, most assuredly The 9/11 ReportThe Time Traveler's Wife(what a roller coaster), Hidden Prey (Sandford does it again), andThe Summer Guest by Justin Cronin.

My Life by Bill Clinton

I think the most notable book of this Summer was The Da Vinci Code.

I think that My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult is a very popular book, and controversial as well. Another one may be Good in Bedby Jennifer Weiner.

[email protected]
Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. I've turned so many people on to this book. Everyone agrees, "Better than The Da Vinci Code."

For the summer of 2004, I think anything political would be the book of the summer. Clinton's memoirs may stand out some, but Bushworld by Maureen Dowd will be THE book.

[email protected]
Probably My Life by Bill Clinton. Everyone was curious to see what he had to say in print, even though most of it was discussed in the media.

The most read book at the beach this summer might be The Da Vinci Code. But overall, it might be My Life by Bill Clinton. At least the latter will have parts of it read by most.

Whiskey Sour by J.A. Konrath

My Life by Bill Clinton

I think it will be The Da Vinci Code. I have not read it yet, but it is on every single list of bestsellers and most talked about books of this summer. My friends who have read it loved it. The rest of us are waiting for who knows why. For me, I want to read it when I have the time to truly savor it. Maybe there will be a let down after I have finished. I am holding it in special esteem until I get all my other reading finished.

I think the book of the summer for 2004 will be Bill Clinton's memoirs.

Book of the summer?? Maybe The 9/11 Report?

I believe The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini will be remembered as the book of this summer. It was a wonderful read.

I think it will be My Life by Bill Clinton, just because so many people wanted to know what really happened behind closed doors when the Monica Story broke. At times I found the book boring, but it did give me insight as to why he acted and reacted the ways he did. Also, it opened a lot of discussions about how and why he would risk so much. He had it all --- he was the President of the most powerful country in the world, had a wife, a child, money, prestige, and incredible power --- and risked it all for oral sex, with a woman he reportedly didn't care for. Amazing. But so many men and women do the same thing day after day.

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

Barbara in Texas
Probably My Life by Bill Clinton or The 9/11 Commission Report … but not because they would be my picks for the best summer read.

I'd pick Kiss Me While I Sleep by Linda Howard or Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi

Fortunately or unfortunately, since it has been around for so long already, the book I see as I walk the beach, sit in the park or wait in the dentist's office seems still to be The Da Vinci Code --- fortunately, because it is wonderfully done; unfortunately, let's move on now!

I think The Rule of Four will be the book of the summer.

Sam's Letters to Jennifer by James Patterson and The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

My Life by Bill Clinton will probably end up being the book of the summer. I haven't read it yet, but it couldn't be half as interesting as his very public White House affair was.

Probably The Da Vinci Code. The publishers keep putting off the paperback version, so they must still be selling a lot of them! We read it for both our fiction and mystery book groups.

I think it will be The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. It's been on the bestseller list all year.

For me the book of this summer was My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I read this book in one sitting, and everyone I know who has read it has an opinion about it. It has stimulated a lot of discussion in the reading groups I belong to and is one I think of often, weeks after reading it.

The book of the summer is Nicholas Sparks's The Notebook. This novel is everything a beautiful love should be, and what everyone wishes they had. The movie came out this summer and it was an incredible adaptation of Sparks's story. Nicholas Sparks is a fantastic author. He knows how to touch hearts with his wonderful writing talent.

I believe it will be Bill Clinton's My Life.

The book of the summer for me is most definitely Hello, Darknessby Sandra Brown...what an incredible book. It took me three days to read it. By the end of the book I was completely shocked at the outcome. This book kept me up very late at night trying to find the bad guy.

I just finished The Kitchen Boy by Robert Alexander. It is one of the best books I have EVER read. Very compelling!

Secrets by Danielle Steel, The Firm by John Grisham, and Angel & Demons and The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

Probably The Rule of Four, although I for one did not think it was nearly as good as the book it's been repeatedly compared to, The Da Vinci Code.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Probably The Da Vinci Code, although I haven't read it yet. I'm waiting for it to come out in paperback.

I think the book to be remembered for the summer of 2004 will beThe Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. I say this because of the movie release and I know I personally went out and bought his most recent book, The Guardian, because I had heard so much hype about the book and movie. I know my book is a book that was written a while ago, but I for one bought the copy of the book before I saw the movie. A book is never as good as a movie, and I for one always want to see what the difference is.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. A fantastic book that really makes you think.

Sam's Letters to Jennifer by James Patterson kept me up all night reading it. It was a great read and I highly recommend it, but don't start it if you don't have time to go on reading!

[email protected]
The Da Vinci Code will be most read and remembered!

I think that the book of the summer will unfortunately be Clinton'sMy Life. I haven't read it and don't intend to, but scandals sell, and that is what people are buying the book for. My personal choice would be Just One Look by Harlan Coben.

Even though it was published a couple of seasons ago, The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is still the most read and talked about book during this summer. I read it months ago and still, last evening, it was a topic of conversation with friends who are reading it as their book club selection for August. It has also prompted the publication of several books and some television productions that attempt to clarify the events and facts woven into the story.

I am thoroughly enjoying The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. I don't want the book to end.

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

Old Boys by Charles McCarry. I could not put this book down. The author writes about the spy game better than any other I have read in 60 years of reading. If you want to try and make sense of why the Arabs hate us so, read this book.

Additionally, after writing about Paul Christopher since 1979, he finally has tied up all the loose ends of a life we have loved to travel along with. I fear this may be his last, for, like Doyle, every new story said "the game's afoot!"

Hands down, The Da Vinci Code.
