Are you asking for books this holiday season? If so, which ones top your wish list?

PNormart@aol.com
Am I asking for books? Are you kidding? I ask for books for Christmas, for my birthday, for our anniversary, for Columbus Day...you get the picture. For Christmas I usually pass around a list of titles to my friends and family, and I buy a few for myself, too. (Gift certificates are always welcome.) Anyway, this year's list looks like this:

Coldheart Canyon by Clive Barker
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon
The Hours by Michael Cunningham
The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub
From the Corner of His Eye by Dean Koontz
Eva Moves the Furniture by Margot Livesay
Blue Angel: A Novel by Francine Prose
Blood and Gold by Anne Rice
Amy and Isabelle by Elizabeth Strout

I keep my Amazon Wish List updated so friends and family know what I really want.  Right now it has Diane Mott Davidson, Jill Churchill, Keith Snyder, and others.

I'd certainly love to re-read the Lord of the Rings.  I read it many years ago, but would truly enjoy recapturing the Hobbit saga once again.  Classics are also among my favorites - I'd welcome any books written by Charlotte Bronte or the Bronte sisters.  Above all, I'd love to receive books on animals!  I just purchased the book, "Of Women & Horses" for a coworker.  Terrific book.  If there's any women horse lovers out there....I'd highly recommend this book.  Wishing you all a blessed holiday season!!!!!

The books I am giving are the entire "New Jedi Order" series in paperback to my father.   To my mother I am giving the new Mary Higgins Clark/Carol Higgins Clark Christmas novel. I can't remember the title right now. I, on the other hand, would like to receive The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon.

I've asked for the Left Behind series of books for Christmas this year.

I plan to give the Harry Potter series to a few friends. They are so magical. In the world we now live , any respite from reality is wonderful. I would like to receive books written by Rosamunde Pilcher. I have read Coming Home and Winter Solstice and they were beautiful stories so I am really intrigued by her writting. Thanks for the question. Happy Holidays.

SWINGPHI@aol.com
I am asking for the following:
Crowns
Violets Are Blue
L A Justice
All the Strangers Were Dead

Kreckmd1@aol.com
I asked for Schnitzler's Century, Theodore Rex and John Adams.  Should fill up a weekend or two, Yeah, right.

Meadowlark2@aol.com
All four Harry Potter books.  I've read them all (library) and now I want my own set. Even though I am a grandmother I still love magical tales and these books are magical.

HOSTEBKLadyJ@aol.com
Yes, I am asking for books. As the saying goes - you can never be too thin/too rich/or have too many books.
As for authors I would like - Jill Barnett, Julie Garwood, JoAnn Lindsay, Jude Deveraux, Christina Skye. These top the list.

Joy4Bound@aol.com
Laurel K. Hamilton - two newest in hardback.  These are an indulgence and I would either wait for them to go on sale or hope for a gift card to Borders to buy them for myself.

Cipsi2@aol.com
I don't ask for books.  For the "What is on your Christmas list?" question, I always answer "Barnes and Noble Gift Certificates."  Everyone knows this anyway, so I DO get books, but I get to pick them out.  Being on a fixed income that doesn't much allow for "wants", buying books for myself is a thing for the past; with the gift certificates, I feel like I am a millionaire.

JEarh13191@aol.com
Violets are Blue by James Patterson and Fearless Jones by Walter Mosley

I bought the new Marcus J. Borg book, READING THE BIBLE AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME, or Taking the Bible Seriously But Not Literally, for each of my adult (early 50's) children, to keep alongside their Bibles.  They may not be interested now, but some day they will.  It's a powerful book, as is his MEETING JESUS AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME. I asked for Everyman's EMILY DICKENSON' POETRY, a small book, for myself. (I'm 81)

I am not asking for books for the holiday.  I find it so hard to stop myself from buying so many books throughout the year that I don't have any left unbought.  I am seriously thinking of buying books for everyone on my list next year.  I'll look for funny, uplifting books.
