Alma Katsu lives outside of Washington, DC with her husband, musician Bruce Katsu. Her debut, THE TAKER, a Gothic novel of suspense, has been compared to the early work of Anne Rice and Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian. The novel was named a Top Ten Debut Novel of 2011 by the American Library Association and has developed an international following. THE RECKONING, the second book in the trilogy, is coming out on June 19th.
Tupelo Hassman graduated from Columbia's MFA program. Her writing has been published in Paper Street Press, The Portland Review Literary Journal, Tantalum, We Still Like, ZYZZYVA, and by 100WordStory.org and FiveChapters.com. Tupelo is a contributing author to Heliography, Invisible City Audio Tours' first tour and is curating its fourth tour, The Landmark Revelation Society. Tupelo will be keeping a video journal of GIRLCHILD's book tour for the short documentary Hardbound: A Novel's Life on the Road. She is pictured here with Tantor Studios engineer James Cookson. Claire McMillan grew up in Pasadena, California and now lives near Cleveland on her husband's family's farm with their two children.  She practiced law until 2003 and then received her MFA in creative writing from Bennington College.  This is her first novel. RoseMarie Terenzio was born in the Bronx and served as personal assistant, publicist, and confidante to John F. Kennedy, Jr. Here, she talks about the complex process of getting to read FAIRY TALE INTERRUPTED, her memoir about serving as John F. Kennedy's personal assistant and confidante.
Joshua Henkin is the author of THE WORLD WITHOUT YOU, MATRIMONY, and SWIMMING ACROSS THE HUDSON (a Los Angeles Times Notable Book) and Matrimony (aNew York Times Notable Book). His stories have been published widely, cited for distinction in Best American Short Stories and broadcast on NPR’s "Selected Shorts." He directs the MFA Program in Fiction Writing at Brooklyn College.
Ayad Akhtar earned a degree in Theater from Brown University and, after graduating, moved to Tuscany to work with world-renowned acting theorist and pioneer, Jerzy Grotowski (Towards a Poor Theater). He has been a New York City resident since the late nineties where he has taught acting on his own and alongside Andre Gregory (My Dinner With Andre, Vanya on 42nd St). He is also the author of numerous screenplays. AMERICAN DERVISH, his first novel, was published in January 2012, and will be released in 22 languages worldwide.
Rachel Simon is the award-winning author of six books and a nationally-recognized public speaker on issues related to diversity and disability.
