Shawn Levy

Born in New York City and educated at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, Irvine, Shawn Levy has been a film critic for The Oregonian since 1997. He was a former senior editor for American Film and a former associate editor for Box Office. His work has appeared in major newspapers and magazines in the United States and England, including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, The Guardian, The Independent, Film Comment, Movieline, Premiere, and Sight and Sound. He maintains a blog about films and another about global soccer, as well as his own website, which has links to many of his writings. His fifth book, PAUL NEWMAN: A LIFE, was published by Harmony Books in May 2009 and appeared on the New York Times bestseller list.  He lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife and three children.
