Kyoko Mori

BIO

Kyoko Mori is an associate professor of English at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin. Her first novel, Shizuko's Daughter,was published in 1993 by Edge Books, an imprint of Henry Holt and Company. She is also the author of a book of poetry, Fallout (1994), and a memoir, The Dream of Water (1995). Her second novel, One Bird, was published by Edge in the fall of 1995.Her next book is titled Polite Lies: on being a woman caught between cultures and it comes out in January 1998 from Henry Holt. It is a book of essays about living in Japan and living in the Mid-West.

Kyoko Mori was born in Japan and moved to the United States when she was sixteen. She received her bachelor's degree from Rockford College and her Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. She has won numerous awards for her novels, poetry, and short stories.
