Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about T. Greenwood's TWO RIVERS.

Carol from Voorheesville, NY

Have you previously read a book by T. Greenwood?
No, I have not.

What other authors do you usually read?
Will North, Elizabeth Brundage, Jennie Fields, Garth Stein, Luanne Rice, Kristin Hannah, and many more.

What did you think of TWO RIVERS?
A page turner! Excellent weaving of past and present. Many times, I wanted Harper to stop being namby pamby, downtrodden and to "act like a man". But then there wouldn't be the story of atonement, of opportunities lost and failures proving his worth. The backdrop of historical events shows how some people are dramatically affected, while others want life to continue without change --- much like the fork of two rivers.

Would you ever read a future book by T. Greenwood?
Most definitely! I have put her books on request at my library.

Don from Omaha, NE

Have you previously read a book by T. Greenwood?
No.

What other authors do you usually read?
I read many different authors and genres of books --- from history to spy novels and mysteries, to fine literature to almost anything. (Recent favorites include WATER FOR ELEPHANTS, WHAT HATH GOD WROUGHT: A History of the U.S. from 1815 to 1858, LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA and THE COLDEST WINTER.)

What did you think of TWO RIVERS?
In my opinion, this was an exceptionally well-crafted and compelling novel. Each of the different story threads keeps the reader engaged and anxious to see what will happen next. The characters are well-constructed and you care about them because they are rendered as real people, both flawed and noble. TWO RIVERS is --- at the same time --- a story about coming of age during a turbulent time (the era of the Vietnam War and the civil rights movement), a story of true love, a story about sins and redemption and a story about secrets (which also makes the novel an intriguing mystery story that keeps you guessing until the very end.)

I consume a lot of books, and much of what is published is ordinary and disappointing. TWO RIVERS never disappoints, never lets the reader down. I would highly recommend this book.

Would you ever read a future book by T. Greenwood?
Yes, absolutely.

Jeannine from Medford, NJ

Have you previously read a book by T. Greenwood?
This was my first book by T. Greenwood.

What other authors do you usually read?
I have several authors whose new books I'm always waiting for: James Lee Burke, Kate Atkinson, Ken Follett, and Asa Larsson. But, I also have several authors who were new to me this past year and I'd like to read more of: David Ebershoff, Diane Setterfield and Sara Gruen.

What did you think of TWO RIVERS?
I was very lucky to have a new 8-week-old kitten in the house that decided my lap was the only place she could sleep. It gave me the perfect excuse to curl up with a good book, and TWO RIVERS fit the bill. My imagination was caught right at the beginning, wondering how the characters got to where they were, and bit by bit, the storyline unfolded the answers.

I was a little sorry to see the last chapter... I'm hoping for a second book!

Would you ever read a future book by T. Greenwood?
Definitely --- she's on my list to watch for new books.

Kristy from Flower Mound, TX

Have you previously read a book by T. Greenwood?
I have not read anything by T. Greenwood before.

What other authors do you usually read?
James Lee Burke, Nelson DeMille, Jodi Picoult, Pat Conroy, Anne Rivers Siddons, and Rebecca Wells.

What did you think of TWO RIVERS?
It was one of the most melancholy books I have ever read, and Harper Montgomery one of the saddest characters I’ve ever read about. He felt every emotion so very deeply --- love for Betsy, rage toward the murderers of his mother, dismay at his father, loyalty to his friends. Throughout the book, I just wanted for his life to be happier and for him to feel that as deeply. I was pleased when, at the end, he was content and looking forward with hope and forgiveness.

Would you ever read a future book by T. Greenwood?
Yes, I definitely will, but I'll look for something a little more lighthearted at the moment!

Mary from Glastonbury, CT

Have you previously read a book by T. Greenwood?
No.

What other authors do you usually read?
I'm a very avid reader and I enjoy books by a variety of authors. The last 5 books I've read were by Wally Lamb (THE HOUR I FIRST BELIEVED), Hannah Tinti (THE GOOD THIEF), Garth Stein (THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN), Markus Zusak (THE BOOK THIEF), and Stewart O'Nan (THE GOOD WIFE).

What did you think of TWO RIVERS?
I really enjoyed it, on so many levels....I enjoyed the way the story alternated between the past and present, and took place in a location/time that I was not too familiar with. The descriptions of Harper's feelings for Betsy were beautifully written. I also appreciated the redemptive ending of the book.

I'm very surprised that I was not familiar with the author's work because, in my opinion, this story was as well written as any current bestseller or award winner.

Would you ever read a future book by T. Greenwood?
Yes!

Patricia from Kansas City, KS

Have you previously read a book by T. Greenwood?
No.

What other authors do you usually read?
I just finished Charles Todd's A MATTER OF JUSTICE and am currently reading SHOT GIRL by Karen E. Olsen. Next up will be Val McDermid's A DARKER DOMAIN. I have too many favorite authors to list.

What did you think of TWO RIVERS?
I thought it was an excellent novel.

Would you ever read a future book by T. Greenwood?
Yes.

Peggy from Columbus, OH

Have you previously read a book by T. Greenwood?
No, I have never heard of her.

What other authors do you usually read?
Jodi Picoult, Alice Hoffman, Douglas Preston, Lee Martin, and Wally Lamb.

What did you think of TWO RIVERS?
I loved the way this story played out --- how an event from the past haunted this man and his friends, and how that affected their lives.

All the layers just drew me into the characters more --- they were real and alive. The imagery of the train wreck and the killing was incredibly disturbing and poetic. Loved, loved, loved this book --- highly recommend it to all readers!

Would you ever read a future book by T. Greenwood?
Definitely --- can't wait!
