• John Ramsey Miller studied art at Delta State University in Mississippi and majored in photography at Southern Illinois University.
  
  
• In the early 1970s, Miller was fired from his job as a still photographer and graphic designer at a Mississippi ABC-TV affiliate station after trying to help a friend shield Martha Mitchell --- of Watergate fame --- from the press. With the help of Helen Thomas, Miller interviewed Mitchell and the footage aired on The Dick Cavett Show.
  
  
• In the 1970s and 1980s Miller worked as a photographer and in advertising. He was part of Hoffman/Miller Advertising, Inc. from 1984-1989.
  
  
• Miller's portraits have been shown in museums and used in books and national magazines.
  
  
• Miller began writing fiction in 1992 after writing freelance articles, a screenplay and a nonfiction book on the obscenity trials involving 2 Live Crew.
  
  
• Miller's debut novel, THE LAST FAMILY, was published in a dozen languages.
  
  
• There was an eight-year span between the publication of Miller's first novel, THE LAST FAMILY, and his second novel, INSIDE OUT.
  
  
• In addition to Miller's 2005 releases, INSIDE OUT, UPSIDE DOWN and SIDE TO SIDE, Miller has three books under contract with Bantam Dell.
